Our Mission The Cantile Family Foundation was established to honor Ralph G. Cantile, a beloved figure in Cheboygan, MI, who dedicated his life to his community and youth sports. Raised in Cheboygan, Ralph was an accomplished athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and track. After serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and pursuing engineering with GM and Chrysler, Ralph returned home to make a difference. As a coach and community leader, Ralph’s passion for sports and youth development led to the creation of the Cheboygan Ice Rink Pavilion in 1993. Coach Cantile passed away in 2001 in recognition of his lifelong contributions, the rink was named Ralph G. Cantile arena. To honor Ralph's legacy, the Cantile Family Foundation was created to provide equipment and scholarships to youth hockey players and support Cheboygan High School students through the giving of annual scholarships.
